Fuelled by nature, fortified by technology

Our state-of-the-art renewables solutions maximise power generation and capacity utilisation, thus enabling us to provide the most competitive LCOE (levelised cost of electricity) to our customers.

We provide five types of renewable energy solutions – solar, floating solar, solar-wind hybrid, wind, and battery storage. Through continuous innovation in each of these areas, we ensure that we stay on the cutting edge of renewables technologies. One such example is our artificial intelligence-guided trackers, which enable our solar panels to follow the sun's movements throughout the day for optimal energy efficiency.

Our areas of expertise

Solar power

Solar power

Since 2011, Aditya Birla Renewables has built a sturdy pipeline of solar power projects in nine states. Using next-generation technologies, we harness the power of the sun to generate a dependable source of clean, affordable energy for our customers.

We use high-efficiency solar cells as well as bifacial modules, which significantly maximise the amount of sunlight that can be absorbed by the system. The modules are mounted on artificial intelligence-guided trackers that constantly follow the sun's movements for maximum efficiency under different climatic conditions.

Wind energy

India has the world’s fourth-highest installed wind energy capacity. Given the vast scope to tap the potential of wind-based electricity, it is a vital focus area for Aditya Birla Renewables.

We are currently evaluating sites across India that are best suited for wind energy generation. In addition to acquiring these land parcels, we will also tie up with wind energy equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to build our capabilities in this domain.

Solar-wind hybrid power

Solar-wind hybrid power

Aditya Birla Renewables is setting up solar-wind hybrid power projects in Gujarat. These hybrid projects harness the complementary strengths of the sun and the wind.

During the day, the solar systems generate power, and in the evening and night hours, wind energy generation picks up. In this way, our hybrid power systems harness both energy sources smartly to provide an uninterrupted stream of electricity.

We also use advanced energy modelling techniques to ensure the best split between solar and wind energy and thus, are able to offer the best-possible LCOE to customers.

Floating solar power

Floating solar power

Leveraging our considerable strengths in solar energy, Aditya Birla Renewables has ventured into the floating solar segment with our first such project in Madhya Pradesh.

Floating solar systems are installed on the surfaces of water bodies like lakes or reservoirs, where they absorb the sun's energy and turn it into electricity. Compared to terrestrial solar plants, floating solar systems don't require large tracts of contiguous land. Floating solar modules also reduce surface water losses through evaporation, making them ideal for hot or water-stressed regions.

Battery storage solutions

Battery storage solutions

Battery technology is rapidly evolving worldwide. Aditya Birla Renewables is also leveraging this exciting new technology in our first such project for metals giant Hindalco.

Battery storage tackles one of the biggest challenges in the renewables sector – the challenge of generating ‘dispatchable electricity’, or electricity that can be stored and transmitted according to the demands of the buyer.

By doubling down on this technology, we are steadily moving closer to the promise of ‘round-the-clock’ renewable power supply to our customers.

In addition to the above offerings, Aditya Birla Renewables is also focused on high-potential technologies like green hydrogen and green ammonia.
