Over the years, we have undertaken several corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives tailored to the needs of the communities residing around our plants.
To play a positive role in enabling rural communities’ quest for financial independence and to systematically strengthen their capabilities and confidence so that they can realise their full potential.
As a responsible business, Aditya Birla Renewables supports a number of CSR causes at the corporate and plant level. Our plant teams are empowered to assist local communities in identifying and overcoming various socioeconomic challenges.
We work with government schools to fill critical gaps with regard to learning tools and infrastructure. We have equipped several schools in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Odisha with computers, desks, tables, and stationery, among other items. These items have collectively benefited over 2,000 students to date.
In order to bridge the healthcare access gap in rural Gujarat, Aditya Birla Renewables facilitated 20+ medical camps at Charanka in FY2022. In addition, we donated radiant heat warmers to a public health centre in Pipardi (Rajkot), benefiting over 2,000 patients from five nearby villagers. We have also helped upgrade the infrastructure at local hospitals in Odisha and Karnataka.
We strengthen rural infrastructure by building access roads, repairing roads to make them motorable, and improving commute safety by building streetlights. These activities have been carried out in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Odisha.
Having 24x7 access to clean drinking water contributes to better public health outcomes. Hence, Aditya Birla Renewables has donated RO-based drinking water systems to villages, schools, and hospitals across Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Karnataka. We also help repair old village borewells, so that they can cater to the needs of the local populace.
The Covid-19 shutdowns came as a shock to rural communities across the nation. To help them in their hour of distress, our team distributed groceries to hundreds of families during the lockdown. We also donate to central relief funds, including PM CARES.
